The Lovejoy Centre was founded by Ann-Marie Lovejoy in 2011 after working as the manager of a dementia home in West Sussex. Ann-Marie launched her business with the aim to improve the quality of life for care home residents across Sussex. Our team use a variety of recreational activities to engage the minds of the elderly and increase their creativity. We can also provide one-to-one sessions in care homes or in private residence.
The services we provide include reminiscence therapy, arts and crafts, music sessions, pet therapy and silent discos. Ann-Marie is also a qualified massage therapist and can do one to one massages.
Aside from offering these services we also have set up Dementia Tech our charity which hosts a day centre at our building in Broadwater in Worthing. We are a dementia friendly day service providing a range of activities. We offer lunch, dessert and of course an unlimited amount of tea and biscuits! We arrange days out once a month and can provide transport to and from the event too. Our team is well-staffed by volunteers and paid staff to ensure that our lovely clients are well-looked after.
We also have a range of dementia friendly products available for purchase – these include blankets, art books and reminisce mats. Ann-Marie has also created a digital hosting of products to help activity co-ordinators and those would like to start freelancing within the care sector.
