The Lovejoy Centre is proud to offer a day service for older people in our community. We provide affordable, qualitative and simulative person-centred activities. Our sessions are based in the heart of Worthing in West Sussex and run every Thursday from 10am until 3pm. Our philosophy is to provide a safe, accommodating and friendly environment that is also dementia friendly. We tailor our service to meet the needs of our clients. We cater to each individual so that they can thrive and get the most out of our sessions. Our sessions are developed with the wishes and individuality of all of our clients in mind. We find out what our clients are passionate about so that we can promote individuality with dignity.
Ann-Marie Lovejoy Bruce-Kerr and her team have over 15 years of experience in providing activities for older people in care settings. Ann-Marie is a former care home manager – she understands how to run a safe, friendly and person-centred care setting. Ann-Marie is passionate about helping older people maintain their individuality and interests, regardless of their personal circumstances.
The Lovejoy Centre provides weekly social interaction for older people, unlimited tea and biscuits, a two-course hot lunch and a range of engaging activity sessions. Our activities include arts and craft, reminiscence sessions, musical bingo, pet therapy and magic table sessions. We also arrange for speakers and performers to come in occasionally to meet our clients – previous guests include a Hollywood film costume designer and musicians.
We also host monthly day trips to places throughout West Sussex – previous outings include Arundel Castle, museum trips and nature reserves.
Prices:
- £40 – Full day (including lunch and unlimited tea and biscuits)
- £25 – Morning session 10am – 12:30pm (including lunch and unlimited tea and biscuits)
- £20 – Afternoon session 12:30pm – 3pm – (including unlimited tea and biscuits)
- £40 – Monthly day trip, times vary (including return transport, entry fees and lunch)
